I don’t want to feel guilty about enjoying every movie from the Judd Apatow mafia, but I do anyway. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is no different. The Dracula puppet rock opera was a particularly nice touch.
I’ve been on a big Judd Apatow kick lately and this movie was right up my alley. Snappy dialogue gets me every time, it’s true, and this seemed somewhat similar to how High Schoolers talk. Seth Rogen and Bill Hader slay as cops that just want to be loved.
You put Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, John C. Reilly, Judd Apatow, and David Koechner into a movie together, and you have to imagine you’ll get less of a piece of crap thanTalladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. That said, I’m sure I’ll enjoy the movie much more in the future than I did after initial watching (hence the 2 stars instead of 1). Karen the Cougar was a highlight for me.
