Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Chapter 3

Short chapters, what?

Chapter 3: The Dursleys Departing

Well, the chapter title says it all, doesn’t it? For the first time, it’s not Harry leaving the Dursleys: they’re leaving, too. It honestly hadn’t occurred to me that they might be in some danger themselves.

The Dursleys, for the first time, don’t act like ridiculous caricatures of horrible relatives. Aunt Petunia almost acts like a human being, and there seems to be hope for Dudley yet. I actually hope we see him again in this book.

No spoilers for later chapters in the comments! I will turn this blog around…

The Dudley moment is a great one. And the whole, “When the magic is over, everyone’s in danger” piece of Harry turning 17 is definitely something I never considered.

    Rachel, I like your idea.
